RC and functional parts
RC is one of the most active corners of this category, because a printer lets you repair a broken mount or upgrade a part the same evening it fails. For parts that take load or heat, makers often step up from PLA to PETG, ABS or nylon, and for anything structural it's worth checking the recommended material on the original listing.
Print orientation matters. On functional vehicle parts, the direction you print in decides where the part is strong. A bracket printed the wrong way can snap along its layer lines under load, so many designers include a suggested orientation in the notes. Where engineering CAD fits in
Some of what people want here isn't a printable mesh at all but a true CAD part (STEP or parametric) they can modify to fit their own machine. That's a different audience from decorative models, and it's an area Meshhound is expanding toward deliberately. For now, the vehicles-and-machines category leans toward print-ready meshes, with CAD-oriented sources on the roadmap.
